Free tastings will be offered along with all you can eat bbq and live music from the Brokedown and Rebuilt Band. Food will be provided by Tavern 23. The event is from 1-6pm at the VFW Post 170 Outdoor Pavilion at 1 Violet Ave in Poughkeepsie, NY. All money raised goes directly to helping local veterans...

WPDH: "...Hats off to this group because they are raising money for Veterans programs and they also have a non-drinker ticket, which goes for $20. It is always great to be able to enjoy an event with the friend who doesn't drink but also doesn't mind being the DD. I truly wish that more events would do this."

The 2022 Whiskey, Bourbon, and BBQ event will feature Local New York and Veteran Owned Distilleries. Guests will receive free tastings, and enjoy an all you can eat BBQ. All funds raised will support the local Hudson Valley Veterans.
This event will be held from 1300 - 1800 at the VFW Post 170 Outdoor Pavilion at 1 Violet Avenue, Poughkeepsie NY 12601.
Here at Warriors & Whiskey we believe everyone deserves a fun and engaging way to pursue their passion, and when that passion is whiskey, we couldn’t think of a better way than to distill the greatest whiskey enthusiasts in America into one spirited community.

Tavern 23, one of the top rated restaurants in the Hudson Valley. Todd and his team will be providing the BBQ for our event, which will be available starting at 1300 hours, and running through the entire event.

Since its inception in September 2018, The Mobile Cigar Lounge continues to create beautiful experiences and turn them into unforgettable memories with one of the most prominent luxury items in the world, a fine cigar. We deliver the ultimate cigar experience in New Jersey, New York City, Philadelphia, and the surrounding areas at weddings, private events, and festivals. The increased visibility through word of mouth, Google and social media outlets had a huge positive impact to the organization. As a result, The Mobile Cigar Lounge hired and trained five additional veterans to assist in the demand of the unique experience at the events.

The 2021 Whiskey, Bourbon and BBQ was GREAT!!!
Our VSA Whiskey, Bourbon and BBQ event this past Saturday was a huge success. Significant time and effort was expended by our members to make it happen, and we want to identify and Thank everyone that was able to attend.
The VSA Board would like to start off by Thanking Bernie Herzfeld, the Commander of VFW Post 170, and my fellow VFW 170 members for allowing us to use our post as the venue for this event. Everything they did for us was greatly appreciated and made this event possible. We want to Thank the distilleries that were able to attend and support us at this event, and we look forward to coming out to visit each one of your distilleries in the coming year. We also want to Thank Todd at Tavern 23, whose team was just amazing and made our guests the great BBQ. Finally, we want to Thank the Brokedown and Rebuilt Band for the excellent live music.
With every successful mission or event, you need three components. A good plan, a good execution of that plan, and a good team. For the this event we had all three. Starting with the VSA Whiskey Committee, the Board would like to thank the committee members who attended multiple planning meetings, designed, printed, and distributed posters, handed out flyers at public events, designed the event website, set up the ticket purchasing process, and spent hours coordinating the event plans. The 2021 Whiskey Event Committee did an excellent job!!!
The execution of the plan resulted in approximately 200 people in attendance, and all of the feedback we received was very positive. We also raised additional funds for local Veterans through merchandise sold, the raffle and the silent auction. Special thanks to the Veteran who made the custom clock for the silent auction. The team of volunteers on Saturday were both professional and Outstanding!!!
Starting three hours before the event, and staying well after the event was over, our VSA volunteers set up the venue, assisted the vendors, coordinated parking, manned the tables and booths, sold raffle tickets, assisted customers, cleaned up the messes and broken glasses, made announcements over the PA, and fought back the swarm of mosquitos while cleaning up the after event mess in the dark. Our team of almost 30 volunteers made this successful event a reality. Their efforts and dedication was observed and greatly appreciated. The volunteers for the 2021 Whiskey, Bourbon, and BBQ event were really Amazing... THANK YOU!!!

Veteran event features specially crafted spirits
TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – The Veterans Sportsmens Association (VSA) sponsored a bourbon tasting on Saturday at the VFW Post 170 Saturday to raise funds for activities for veterans. The event drew more than 200 people.
The “Whiskey, Bourbon, and BBQ” event featured more than 16 veteran and locally owned distilleries and food was catered by Tavern 23 in Poughkeepsie. There was live music and raffles for patrons to enjoy.
VSA President Todd Dillon said the organization is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping veterans and their families when they encounter issues. The organization also hosts firearms training and a variety of recreational events for veterans including rafting and camping trips... "
