VETERANS FISHING PROGRAMS
VETERANS SPORTSMENS ASSOCIATION
Veterans Serving Veterans

THE VETERANS SPORTSMENS ASSOCIATION HAS TEAMED UP WITH Fin Chaser Warriors Outdoors AND Project Healing Waters to expand Veterans Fishing Programs in the HUDSON VALLEY NY and NEPA

Fin Chaser Warriors Outdoors
Fin Chaser Warriors Outdoor is a veteran-founded nonprofit organization dedicated to healing, resilience, and reconnection through the power of the outdoors. Built on the unbreakable bonds of brotherhood, we are a community of combat veterans who refuse to leave anyone behind—on the battlefield or at home.
Attention NEPA Veterans
Starting on 6 April 2026 at 1700 hrs (Every Monday thereafter), we will be hosting free meetings at 851 Raymondskill Road in Milford Pa 18337 for a VSA and Fin Chasers fishing program. During that time there will be fishing education followed by a session of prayer and a standown time where we usually smoke cigars, enjoy adult beverages and discuss the stressors of the week or life. We will use these sessions to work together to overcome anything thrown our tribes way. Please join us.

Recreational activities that support Whole Health
Many VA medical centers nationwide now collaborate with PHW and other community organizations to support Veterans’ mental health through recreational therapies. Contact your local VA to explore Whole Health opportunities near you.

Pennsylvania offers free or reduced-fee fishing licenses to resident disabled veterans with service-connected disabilities. Veterans with a 100% disability rating get a free license, while those with 60%–99% disability pay $2.97. Active-duty personnel on leave outside the state can also fish without a license.

New York State offers significantly reduced-fee fishing licenses for eligible veterans and active-duty military. NY resident veterans with a 40% or greater service-connected disability can obtain a fishing license for just $5. Active-duty military stationed in NY, or on leave, may also qualify for reduced fees or free
