THE 2023 BOAT RIDE FOR DUTCHESS COUNTY VETERANS WAS POSTPONED FOR 2023
5th Annual Boat Ride for Dutchess County Veterans
This will be the 5th Annual Boat Ride for Dutchess County Veterans. This is a free event for Dutchess County Veterans and their guests. Participants will travel from Whites Hudson River Marina at 15 Point St, New Hamburg, New York 12590 to West Point in a flotilla of various boats and finishes with a free dinner by the water. Registration will be set up in March. The event starts at 1000 hrs and ends at 1700 hrs.

1st Annual Kayak Event for Dutchess County Veterans
The 2024 Veterans Kayak Event will take place at the Great Swamp in Paterson NY. Veterans and guests will put in at the Great Swamp Canoe/Kayak Launch on Marble Road at 1300 Hours and take out at Green Chimneys on 400 Doansburg Rd, Brewster, NY 10509

FROGS
Founded in 1990, the Friends of the Great Swamp (FrOGS) is a volunteer non-profit organization made up of residents and neighbors who have been working to preserve the Great Swamp Watershed of Putnam County and Dutchess County, New York. We have a Board of Directors that meets once a month throughout the year to discuss issues of local environmental concern and to guide the activities of the organization.

Where To Kayak in the Hudson Valley

Water Trail Sites are Access Sites are places where a kayak or canoe may be launched into or taken from the water. As of February 2015, there are 116 Access Sites along the Water Trail. The ultimate goal is to have one or more Access Sites every 10 miles (or less) along both shores of the river.

The annual Wappingers Creek Water Derby, an 8 mile canoe and kayak race down the scenic Wappingers Creek, is hosted by our club. It’s usually the last Sunday of April.
